One of our main goals in doing the Ladies Room project was to show women they are not alone. We are all connected by the same things whether we are struggling single moms, idolized celebrities, conservative Christians, out and proud lesbians, organic farmers, gun shop managers, lawyers, artists, students, songwriters, cake bakers -whatever- there are emotions and feelings that link us all. With Visual Chronicles and Journal Revolution, we'd confirmed that constant self awareness creates great art, that great art is simple self expression, and that when you talk honestly with people about what is really going on in their lives, their hearts, their imaginations, we are all so much alike. So, we went to the most frightening canvas there is--the mirror. And we brought simple truth before it to create perfect art.
These women are all art!
We think the best way to see the pages of Meeting In The Ladies Room: Reflections Of Women In A Room Of Their Own is in the old-fashioned book form it was designed for. However, we understand that not everyone can afford $34 right now and we would love for anyone who wants to see it to be able to. So, the great news is that it's now available in kindle format for only FIVE DOLLARS! There are free kindle apps for many devices like your iPhone, Blackberry, and computer so you do not need to buy a Kindle to read the book. Kindle for your iPhone or computer shows color books in color. We're very excited to offer this option!
I have seen Meeting In The Ladies Room on my computer and on my iPhone and I have samples!
First on the Kindle for PC:
The words that are in the image are hard to read. I want to read them! It's still a cool photo so, ok.
Plain text is very easy to read. Great!
White handwriting on photos is harder to read but can be read at full size.
Photos from the Kindle App for iPhone:
You can zoom in huge on text!
The handwriting is easy to read.
You can zoom out and in- easy to scroll through the pages and then zoom in to read.
Final thoughts: I think either option is good if you are on a budget and want to see the book. It's a great option to have! The colors are a little different from the printed book and some pages are a bit harder to read because like a journal, there's handwriting on photos. The few pages that are harder to read do not at all take away from the rest of the book. Get the kindle book here.
