This is one of my paintings that hangs at a large medical center in Los Angeles. I love that my art can bring some comfort to people on what could be a horrible day. There is nothing more stressful than being ill or watching someone you love suffer. A medical center should be soothing. It should be comforting and calming. When my sister had to report for daily radiation treatments, the radiation machine was essentially in a storage closet. She had to fight cancer surrounded by boxes and clutter. That is not ok. People should have something to focus on while they are being treated. Art can provide an escape when people need to go to their happy place (as they say), even if just for a blood test or xray. I think about this so often while I create. I want my art to make people feel better.
