I couldn't sleep last night. I kept thinking about all the things going on this year with work and travel and family and it all became a jumble of letters and numbers. I got out of bed and started painting this piece. I love how letters and numbers look together when it is something fun! Addresses, birthdays, milestones, directions.
In a few weeks, Karen's daughter will be off to Denmark, and in a few months her son will be off to college. And somehow in the midst of that we will travel and plan and dream. These will be short adventures because Karen will have to work 17 jobs to pay for two college tuitions at the same time. I can't even imagine what life will be like when all the kids are across the country. I so remember how I could not imagine what life would be like with two new babies to love. Thank Buddha's mama that they were babies Karen had and not the other way around. Being an aunt is the best thing ever.
The last year was hard (duh, I keep saying that on repeat). I worked my butt off on projects I did not even have time to mention here. I took every design job offered to me (let's not bother to discuss out of network medical bills), and I never got around to fixing up my own space here to reflect what is happening now. It's a shame because I am very excited about some of those projects! Luckily, there is still time for me to do that. I am really excited to share my art and our adventures and shining up this site will be part of that. I keep saying excited, but that is what I am. Excited for what is to come!
In the mean time, while I plan out how to overhaul the blog and shop, I will post original art for sale here on the blog. If you see something you like, snatch it up!
