Thing 41: When I was little, some of my favorite songs were Top Of The World (The Carpenters), Wildfire (Michael Martin Murphey) and Done Too Soon (Neil Diamond). I can't for the life of me now figure out what I liked about Wildfire. I didn't even like horses. It's a boring song. I still love Top Of The World and Done Too Soon. I always felt like such a badass when Neil would bust out "Jesus Christ!" and did not realize until my teen years that he was naming names not creatively cursing. This song taught me that a list could be exciting and deep. It taught me how to properly pluralize. It taught me beginning, middle, and end. It taught me to swear effectively even though that wasn't really part of the song. It taught me stylization and pattern without being visual. Thing 41a: My favorite Neil Diamond song is Holly Holy. Thing 42b: I am not the least bit embarrassed to say I still worship the Jewish Elvis. Who are you not embarrassed about listening to on repeat? #45andme #iamartblog from Instagram http://ift.tt/OiQiqP
