*There are very few foods that one of us seesters will love and the
other will not. Oreo cookies are one thing Karen likes and I do not. I
like cookie dough ice cream and Karen can't stand it. Karen likes
whipped cream and I do not. I always order everything
no whip. One of
the things we both love is the chemical delight Cool Whip. It makes
every dessert better! I almost always have a tub of the fat-free version
in my fridge. It's low in Weight Watchers points and it satisfies my
sweet cravings. When I saw an ad for the new
Cool Whip frosting I had to
try it! I got the "cream cheese" version and the "frosting" is not-fat
free or light so eat it straight from the tub carefully. It's
interesting. It tastes similar to grocery store bakery birthday cake
frosting but also like Cool Whip. I think it would be really good on
cookies and graham crackers. It's not really the texture of frosting but
it is less whipped creamy than regular Cool Whip. It has to be
refrigerated and anything you frost with it has to be as well. I prefer
my chemical blends at room temperature so that might be an issue. It
tastes a lot like that cream cheese- Cool Whip pie. I'm not sure I would
buy it again, but I am also sure I will eat what is left since it seems
to last as long as weird perimenopausal PMS.
*Emily is coming
home from Vandy for a week so be prepared to see our Instagrams flooded
with photos. I can't wait to stand on a step-ladder and hug my
college student niece!
*My husband and I are going to San
Francisco for a few days next week and we are so excited about it. I
waffle (oh, that Cool Whip Frosting would be good on waffles) between
being sad I won't be with my family at Thanksgiving and being true to
our own traditions. I think when you don't have kids you have to make
your own traditions so the holidays really are a holiday. And, we all
have iPhones so I will just facetime with them from wherever we are
sitting with our hot chocolate and sourdough bread. I am pretty sure I
said the same exact thing last year at this time. See, the tradition of
waffling is still part of the tradition! Also part of our tradition is
taking a million photos. I was shocked to see my photos from last year
are still on the memory card in my digital camera. Oh my Buddha! How did
time fly so damn fast this year? The scary thing is I still don't have
time to upload the photos to my computer so am just getting another
memory card (and maybe some waffles).
