We had a great time in San Francisco! My favorite thing to do in any city is get up early and go walking with my camera. It's the best way to get to know a city (and your camera). I fall in-love with any city full of yellow buildings and houses so I was in heaven. As always, we ate our way through the city by the bay. Highlights include sampling pretty much every flavor at Bi-Rite Creamery. If you go there (you must), get more than one scoop of the Salted Caramel ice cream. Trader Joe wishes he invented this. So damn good. Before our trip, I kept reading about coconut jam by Hey Boo. Coconut jam sounds like it could be either disgusting or delicious. Bi-Rite had a jar so I got one. I regret that I got only one jar because it is so unbelievably good you can just eat it right out of the jar with a spoon. Ok, you don't even need a spoon. It's so good you will be using your fingers. It tastes like the dreamiest coconut cream pie but without pieces that stick in your teeth. It's good on toast, graham crackers, angel food cake, anything that you think would be good with coconut. It's so fucking good that if you never drop f-bombs, you will when you taste it. I have only half a jar left and am guarding it with my life. Thank goodness they have online ordering.
It was lovely to wander around the neighborhoods of San Francisco, looking in shops, sitting in coffee shops, and just generally relaxing. It's so good to be with people who dress in black from head to toe, have books in their messengers bags, and take photos of every edible item in front of them. San Francisco is for artists, readers, and foodies. It's aslo full of gross people who cough and spit all over the street but I am trying to block that part out of my memories.
Despite my plans, I returned to reality with a million things to do, places to go, and Mercury in Retrograde! GRR! I have not had time to go through any of my photos yet and am still uploading items to offer for holiday shoppers. Or any shopper. I don't discriminate!
