1. I have some 99 Cent art auctions (with no reserves!) ending at ebay in the next day or so. I was missing ebay the other day. Etsy is good for what it is but I still love putting art out there and just letting it be gotten at whatever price it goes for. It's fun and I like people having art that they get to tell a story about how they got it.
2. Thanks so much for all the birthday emails, tweets, and facebook messages! A miracle happened and Los Angeles stopped being Seattle. The rain went away and the sun came out and my husband and I did what we like to do best...we plopped our chairs down in the sand and soaked up some rays. The beach was beautiful and empty, just how I like it. I swear I could totally live in a tent on the beach if my tent had a bathroom, a kitchen, wi-fi, and a central heat. So, basically if my tent was a house with electricity and cable, I could totally live in it. On the way to the beach, we stopped by my favorite jeweler in Ventura and I had a pendant designed using some stones from a really hideous piece of jewelry that once belonged to my grandmother (my other grandmother, not Nana). I wanted to use the gems for something meaningful and pretty that I would actually wear instead of just having the ugly jewelry just sit in a drawer. The piece should be done in a few weeks. [of course we took some self-timer photos on the beach while we were still bundled up. It was really windy. Even though I do not love the photos because my hair is blowing like crazy and my scarf came undone, I love the photos. You have to have photos of everything and it was fun.]
3. While we're on the subjects of birthdays, I am addicted to those cakepops from Starbucks. I even like the birthday cake one, which is odd because I generally do not like birthday cake flavored anything. The really weird thing is every time I order only one, they put two in the bag but charge me for one. I don't notice until I get out of the drive-thru. I'm not complaining. I am so good with that error.
4. Still on the subject of birthdays and renewal, my driver license did not come! It turns out there's a delay all the license orders right now and I was able to get help via the DMV on twitter! I was all ready to go to the DMV but they were able to help me via DM and even got me a temporary license sent out- all within 20 minutes. The lady was so nice! Having customer service via twitter makes things so easy. I wish more companies would do that.
