I'm tossing all my magazines that are not from this month and that I don't need for work purposes. It's really hard for me to toss magazines because I am comforted by seeing a stack of magazines to read at any time. There's always something to read! I went through all the magazines and tore out articles and photos I want to keep for references (gardening, recipes, cool decorating ideas) and put them in a 3-ring binder. Now, instead of stacks of magazines I have a binder. I still have magazines subscriptions, and as I read magazines I will tear the pages out and add them to the binder. When the newest issue arrives in the mail, I will toss the old one. It will be a little magazine ritual!
After having to clean our our mom's home when she died, I have been thinking about what people would find if I suddenly died and they were cleaning out my house. I'm not sure binders full of recipes and gardening ideas would be that cool to find but it might be better than my loved ones being perplexed about me never throwing out a magazine.
What do you have a hard time getting rid of?
*My magazine count was less than 50. There's no need to call the producers of Hoarders, yet.
