Today We're FEELIN' GROOVY about:
~Mercury in Retrograde is OVER! YAHOO!!!
~Karen finally has the new front teeth she has always wanted
~I heard my phone ring and it was a really good voice at the other end!
~Visiting with our cousins who are here from London for a few days. It's funny because they had a faulty bathroom door in their hotel room and were pretty quickly moved to a new room. Hmmmm. Maybe next time I have problems in a hotel I should fake an English accent.
~McVitie's Penguins--still the flakiest, yummiest chocolate biscuit treat ever
~Laughing over spilled...uh...veggie trays, and fishing for pea pods under the fridge with a skewer. Karen's daughter posed for the necessary pics!
Our Bêtes Noires:
~Last week someone I met at a party asked me why I never got the gap in my front teeth fixed. Uh. I feel really bad for Karen and The Other Karen now because I am gonna be commenting about it for the rest of my life. I used to smile every 3 seconds and now maybe I shouldn't. Ahhh, I still totally will. I am laughy, I can't help it. Let this be a lesson: never -ever- ever ask anyone why they didn't get something about themselves fixed. Well, mercury was in retrograde.
~People are still calling me on their cell phones when they want to look cool in front of other people (tho not the caller on the groove list above) while they drive. People, fake phone conversations aren't cool anymore. If you want to look like you have a lot of friends, fake text me. Cool people with lots of friends are very busy texting. Fake talking is so 2007.
~Why do so many therapists/life coach type people think it is respectful to talk down to people and assume no one can handle anything? How could it be comforting to know that others think you are a freak-out dumb ass? Karen DOES have a psych degree and does go around therapizing all the depressed people she attracts, but does try to do so without talking all mommy-ish to them.
~I forgot to list a bunch of people we were so happy to see at CHA in my last post about seeing people at CHA. I feel like such a jerk. We were so happy to see Dawn of d'blogala who has a new book coming out, too! And, we were thrilled to meet Paula from Scrapbook Your Life in San Diego who patiently waited in line and was so funny! There were many people who waited patiently and were funny and I feel bad that I am not mentioning every single person by name.
