The flames got really close to our neighborhood today. I could swear the fire was in my house just from all the smoke that made its way inside. It smells like a bbq in here but without the s'mores.
It cracked me up that everyone was standing around taking pictures of the fiery hell as it came closer instead of, I don't know, backing up their hard-drives.
I snapped some photos then did back up my hard-drive while eating a Coffee Crisp sent by the lovely Nadia. Good candy really does make wondering if you are gonna have to evacuate seem less worrisome. Thank you, Nadia!
Because we are us, both of us are in our own type of hell. I am hobbling and smell like smoke and Karen is without electricity. For the last few days my back has been really bothering me, just like that time it went out after the Celine Dion concert. I heard a Celine song and I bet that triggered it, just like when that woman used to have seizures when she'd hear Mary Hart's voice! It feels like I am walking like Joe Cocker and that at any moment a medicine man could burst out of the swollen lump to the right of my spine and scare me to death. So, to make myself feel better about that, I ate the part of the Coffee Crisp I was going to share with Karen. I am the best seester ever! Her power is out so unless she finds a way to read this, she won't even know about the magic candy I was going to share with her! Before the fire got so close, I did manage to hobble over to Chico's and found a cute jacket to wear to our signing tomorrow. Too be different, I got something with a pattern! I may or may not look like a sofa.
I am off to ice ice baby my back and drug up so I can stand up straight tomorrow. The show must go on!
