This is turning into kind of a sucky month. In a couple days, the spouses of anyone who works in the entertainment industry will have their lives and routines totally disrupted by having their spouse suddenly at home. It looks like there's about to be a strike. Rumor has it that my husband could be at home staring at me while I make art as early as this friday. Not good. Not good at all.
I've decided that if this strike lasts more than 7 hours, I will do my part to end it. In the past when there has been a strike, I have suggested that my husband repaint part of the house. It was the kitchen last time. We went to Home Depot, got all the supplies, then got to work. As we were one cupboard into the job, the phone rang and he got called to work. The strike was over and because I am me, I had to repaint all the cupboards and walls by myself. Clearly, the strike was ended by me asking my husband to paint the kitchen.
Monday, if the strike is still on, I will ask him to paint one of our bathrooms. Problem solved. Wives all over Southern California will be thanking me and I'll have to finish painting the bathroom myself...totally worth it.
