On October 19th, two really memorable things happened for us. We got the best hugs of our lives from Rosie, and we got the best understanding mom eye contact and totally loving smile from Elizabeth Edwards. Elizabeth was on The View promoting her book the same day we were and when we walked into the green room all nervous and excited and not sure what was going to happen, she was there~ poised and confident and looking at us with so much compassion and love. When we were done with our segment and were walking back to the green room, she smiled at us again. I don't remember if we spoke to her other than a simple hello, but the way she looked at us will be with us forever. On that day when I was so sick and feverish and we'd had so little sleep, two moms we'd never met totally loved us. Or at least we felt like they did. We are so sad to hear that Elizabeth Edwards has cancer again. She's so nice. She could've just rolled her eyes at us that day and acted all big, but she didn't.
This sunday, we are spending the day with our mother who has lung cancer. She has just finished another round of radiation and will start chemotherapy again soon. If you smoke, STOP. If you don't know how to stop or you can't do it alone, get help.
