What is it about shopping at Trader Joe's that makes shoppers so mean? I do not get it. I am not sure why good food at good prices makes people mannerless and lose their peripheral vision. Every time I go to Trader Joe's, no matter what city I am in, people are jerks and bang their carts into me because they weren't paying attention to what is around them. I think I am a nice person. I pay attention to what is going on around me. If I ever whipped my cart around at 75 miles per hour and smashed into a person reaching into to get some macaroni and cheese, I'd pretty much die of guilt. I'd say I'm sorry a thousand times. I'd offer the person a free book and a lifetime supply of I AM ART shirts, I'd buy their groceries, and I'd drive them to the hospital to make sure their little toe isn't broken. I'd really, really care if I hurt somebody. I'd also really, really care if I didn't notice other shoppers, because not noticing life happening is not good.
This morning when I was at Trader Joe's getting life's necessities (English muffins, butter, chocolate chips), I was banged into SIX TIMES. I was apologized to ZERO times. Not one of the six different people even stopped for a second to be nervous or embarrassed that they banged into me. I wasn't even in anyone's way. I'd admit if I was in prime cart bashing target area because I pay attention to stuff like that. And, each time I was banged into, I was the only person in the aisle. It wasn't even crowded!
People, what the heck is going on?
