We both began our journey this morning by violating our very own rules about packing. Neither of us can lift her own bag. We aren't hopping any trains or walking down cobble stone roads and we did have to bring cakes and art supplies and promo stuff. But still, we're sure it was quite a sight to see us trying to get our luggage off the baggage claim carousel that spun at lightening fast speed. It was ok~ we we're so happy that we avoided paying the excess weight fee on our luggage because we handed our bags to skycaps then ran like hell to the gate. And that wasn't even the highlight of our morning...that award goes to the moment I realized that for the first time EVER, Karen was EARLY.
We've noticed two new things about Vegas since we were last here: Every hotel has changed its color scheme to appear upscale, soothing, and sophisticated (and very 1970's). Green, orange, and gold are the colors of the day. Brown and white accents every escalator landing. We expect Danny Partridge and Marcia Brady to be striking it rich at the black jack table.

The Mirage Buffet has been remodeled and so have the dessert recipes. Trust us, avoid the cakes and pies in the same way you'd avoid street vendors. If it looks like plastic, it probably tastes like it. Just fill a bowl with their still delicious coconut macaroons and dump a heaping spoonful of the hot chocolate pudding cake thing on top of it. Now, THAT was good.
