The other morning when we were on our walk, a woman passed by us and totally booked it up the hill. At the same time, my husband and I commented that the lady was booking it! Booking it, booked it, let's book. Hmm. We both wondered where that expression originated. I am from Northern California and he is from Southern California and we both use that expression (unlike the NoCal favrorites hella and FACE!). I only quickly browsed Google and did not see a legit origin of booking. Legit being current lingo, of course. Was there a fast runner or driver named Book?
Who else says booking it or any of the booking variations to mean let's go quickly or fast moving?
